its an RPG from the 90's if you weren't expected to grind a bit it would just be a pussy cake walk

I have been thinking about getting the first earthbound on my Wii U. I'm not a huge RPG nut, the only ones I'm very familiar with are shining force, fire emblem and pokemon games.

Is the earthbound series difficult to get into? I have heard its an amazing story and way WAY past its time.
