I agree that the new translation is too florid. I liked the awkward bluntness of the original translation. The new one sounds like it's trying way too hard to sound like Alexander O Smith and making it an unnatural, stilted jumble.

As an example, the WOTL version of the pictured line was "'Tis your birth and faith that wrong you, not I" which is nowhere near as badass and memorable
