What are some comfy/chill SNES games? Pretty open to different genres, mostly looking for something with a pleasant atmosphere and nice music.

So, I'm dumb and impulsive and I bought an SNES and Yoshi's Island. I've never owned an original SNES and I honestly haven't played any games on the original hardware (I played mostly GBA and DS ports).

But since I've already paid up for it, what games should I get now? Big nintendo fanboy, but I feel I should branch out and check out games published by other companies for the SNES.

I'm willing to spend up to about 50 bucks for a real good game, but anything rarer than that seems out of my price range.

Just wondering what games are must haves. I couldn't find a /vr/ FAQ.

Would building a raspberry pi emulator machine inside an old snes case be feasible for a guy who's only accomplishment with computer hardware is building a desktop pc and who only knows how to copy/paste as far as coding is concerned?

Are there any cheap RPGs for SNES? I've recently bought one and have been looking and they are like $50 and up. Any hidden gems that I'm probably not aware about. NA releases only btw

Yo /vr/ I'm looking for a specific SNES/Super Famicom "game" called "you're a winner" or something along those lines. All that was on it was 16 bit naked women.

Aight... So theres this game I used to play as a kid on an old SNES emulator, It was an overhead view game, kinda like zelda, with different stages, the one I remember the most was one with a little toy train going on the walls... I remember some light balls orbiting around you and a big cave... I know its very little to go with but I have looked everywhere and I have not been able to find it, any of you know what it is?

Alright so I have been trying to get into retro games for a while now (try to get the childhood I never got) and I managed to get an SNES from a friend for free (he had gotten it from a friend for free and he already had 2). So I purchased Super Mario World from a local second hand shop and popped it in. After a little bit of effort it started to work just fine and I started at the game. Suddenly I was playing the third levels and bam.

The screen shifted right for a few seconds.

It shifted back but I had the same issue as I played every so often. I also had that issue from A Link to the Past at the title screen for about a half second.

Any ideas what it could be and/or how I could fix it?

Plugged in the old SNES

>Zelda
>DKC
>Fatal Fury 2
>Top Gear
>Mario Kart
>SFIIT
>Rocky Rodent
>Riddick Bowe Boxing
>All-Stars
>MKII
>Al Unser Jr's Road to the Top
>Yoshi's Cookie
>NBA JAM:TE
>Top Gear 2

What I want to know is what is a good RPG or deep quest game.

Anything will do. Plus if can create own character or choose a class.

Recommendations thread.

I remember ages ago that there was a plan to make a /vr/ recommendations images.

Any of those ever turn out, I'm particularly looking for NES/SNES.

I'm a yuropoor looking to buy an US SNES (NTSC)

I figured you guys might know a thing or two about acquiring retro consoles, so I'm wondering whether you know of any good places to buy one other than ebay? Those that I saw were either way overpriced or yellow and with a cracked case.

Hello there /vr/

Neo gamer here. Never was part of the NES/SNES era, was looking for some recommendations.

This is gonna sound weird, but I'm not really looking for turn-based RPGs, burned out on that already. All is fine if it's Action RPGs though. I think the only SNES game I've played was Chrono Trigger and NES was Ghostbusters

Could somebody explain to me why old consoles were so sensitive to jolts?

I remember when I was a kid, I was at a friend's house watching him play a SNES game. I can't remember the game he was playing, but after beating a really tough level that he was stuck on for a long time we both jumped to our feet shouting "YES!" and the jolt from us jumping to our feet made the SNES crash to a black screen.

I've had similar experiences with that happening with N64's too. Why do the smallest of shakes make these consoles crash?
