NOOOOOOOO!
GOD NO, don't use scissors or wrench, you redditor!
here is how to proceed:
1) Plug your GB / be sure it has full battery
2) open the game case (like in the photo) and insert the half case with the PCB (circuit board)
3) turn on your GB, the game shall be playing
4) if your game is playing correctly, fire up your soldering iron and gently desolder the battery. You can use fine pillars to cut the top leg or a screwdriver to gently lift the battery leg from the battery.
5) Now you should have a game still running, but without battery (either with or without legs, depending on the new battery you bought). Prepare the new battery by tining it's legs (or its face if you use a legless battery).
6) Carefully place the battery at the right spot and weld it.
7) When done, check that the game is still running. If So, use a multimeter and check the battery voltage probing the PCB and not the battery itself. You should be able to ge the correct voltage.
8) If everything is okay, save your game, turn it off, and screw back your cartridge.
9)???
10) Profit

A) Battery HATES high temperature. Please, buy a legged battery if you can.
B) You are using a hot soldering iron in a live plastic 20 years old game boy. Need I to say to take care neither to short cut tracks nor to burn the case?
C) Have fun! If you can, practice on a dead cartridge, or a one you don't cherish that much before doing it on your beloved ones.

I remember a vidya magazine at the time praising how this game had "literally 2000 different sounds only for footsteps!"

But was it really true?

I dont do it for money or investment. I unironically like P4s and want to secure what can play my favorite vidya.

I actually hoard everything UP TO p4's. That means I also buy older pcs if I find them for 10 or 20 bucks. Im not ok with paying hundreds as I dont care for "vintage" Ill never pay that money for a system that will just sit in my room. Especially since I can always find someone that will throw those away and give them for cheap.

I just bid for 2 more pcs, one is a win98 and one is a 486 (I want another one badly). I cant stop, its just a 10 euro bid. I have to stop but its so cheap. Tomorrow I have to pay 2 P4's.

Does anyone know how to set-up controller use for the steam port of Killing Time? Or possibly how to make the keyboard/ mouse controls tolerable?
Thanks!

I mostly played JRPGs, Vehicular Combat, Sim Games, and RTS as a kid and I wanted to play some retro games outside of those genres. I'm looking for good platformers, metroidvanias, SHMUPS, etc. Something that involves a more active kind of gameplay and a feeling of skill progression.

I no longer have my old consoles, so it would have to be emulated.

Ah man that cover takes me back... I have every PlayStation Magazine from that issue to some point in the PS2's early life. The magazine was nice but the demo discs were the most exciting part. I still have them all. About once a year I still try them all out in order.

Also, I remember the Crash Bandicoot PlayStation magazines being the most popular since it had a demo on the disc a few months before release.
