Most "casual" emulation setups will be flawed, often in compounding ways. If you're not a casual then it's quite economically feasible to build as accurate an emulation setup as you want, not any more expensive than getting a single console and it's flash cart or ODE.

If you have enough time to worry about if your screen is tearing a little or that you're seeing frameskips but you don't have enough time to scare up a hunnert bucks, you need to reassess your priorities.
