I wouldn't know I only had bomberman hero as a kid. i love this game it is a nice middle ground between open world platformers like mario 64 and linear ones like crash

Is this the best Bomberman game?

I really liked Bomberman Hero.

The soundtrack is absolutely amazing mix of jungle and drum 'n' bass music.
The boss fights are pretty fun stuff, Nitro is a real pain in the ass, but he feels pretty genuinely challenging.
A couple of levels have secret exits, and you're rewarded for exploring everything around you.
You have tons of maneuvers available to you and different attacks and ways to deal with enemies.
Tons of replay value for autistically getting the highest score possible. They even cranked up the autism for the English release by making clear point requirements harder.
Fucking bomber change. Fly, swim, snowboard. Even more options!

It got mixed reviews at the time from game publishers for not having multiplayer. It was one of my favorite games for a long time.

this game has a great trippy DnB soundtrack

This and Rocket- Robot on Wheels.
I'm surprised of how entertained I was with these games when I was a kid, even if I were kinda concious of they dubious quality.
