Some people feel fine playing on a Pi or PC with a knock-off gamepad, cool.
What gets me is how some think that attempting to create an accurate environment (to varying degrees) is somehow a waste of time when it enhances the experience for many players.
I'm happy playing on period accurate or "official" ways (aka ports, compilations on original hardware old or new), some people like to go to the extreme with a nerdy game room that looks more like a store or even ABDL-like regression to a childhood bedroom. Point is, you can have a taste of original hardware without going overboard.

Here’s my 2530 from a year ago. The room has been worked on since, but it’s still a work in progress. Plan on driving it out to LA to be fine tuned at a specialist shop sometime soon
