Can anyone explain to me what the fuck could possibly be the appeal of this game?

So far I've played up to the empire throwing my ass in jail and it's been pure pain the whole way.

70% of the game is fighting with the dumb fucking AI who gets stuck in some bullshit corner which prevents you from going anywhere. The other 30% is the AI making random attacks at everything nearby, including invisible sand assholes and ghosts they can't possibly hit under any circumstances, and slowing you the fuck down.

Then you have HP sponge enemies fucking everywhere which have 30 sec invincibility frames which you have to sit for literally a minute on many of them and just time your hits until it finally fucking dies unless it's a slime which can live for fucking ever thanks to infinite respawning. This is all assuming you can actually hit anything since half your attacks miss and many enemies.

Then the bosses where they spend more than 90% of the fight in some sort of invincible mode where no physical attacks can harm them so you have to cheese them to death with magic which btw has at least 4 different kinds so far which all need to be leveled up as slow as possible so you can even attempt to do any damage.

The story so far sucks, the combat is total garbage, the music has sucked so far. I'm 100% serious here. What the fuck is the appeal of this game?

Am I wrong for not liking this game?

I'm on the boss at the dwarf caves. Music's alright, but the combat isn't fun and the story's nothing to write home about.

Is the next one in the series a better entry point? The one that only has a fan translation?
