Try not to think of dot triads as discrete pixels. They aren't.
See pic related, note how each dot is part of at least six triangular triads, even more if you count horizontal/diagonal linear groups as triads. Your eyes don't see individual dots and don't care which triad makes up one white "pixel".

Each dot simply makes a part of the screen darker or brighter, regardless of its color, which makes the apparent contrast/luminance resolution much higher. Going with your example, a 19" screen with 0.2mm dot pitch:
the screen has 289.56 / (.5 * (.2 / cos 30)) = ~2508 lines of dots.
each line consists of 386.08 / (.2 / 1.5) = ~2896 dots.
If you only display one primary color, the resolution drops to your 1930 dot figure.
