Since we're talking about it, are there any source ports currently available that mimic software-rendered Quake as closely as possible? (Preferably with music support)

I know you can sort of tweak DarkPlaces to un-enhance it, but the results never seemed that good to me.

Have there been any sourceports that 100% replicate the 1996 experience? I'm not interested in modernized graphics, and if CD Audio worked properly I'd just use WinQuake.

All I want is to play Quake in 320x200 with the software renderer + music support.

Honestly, I don't get the hype for it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but I don't like it nearly as much as SMW. For me, it's lacking in scope compared to SMB3 or SMW, it feels like a smaller world. 8/10 I'd say

I am Carmacula. BLEAH! I WANT YOU TO REGISTER YOUR COPY OF QUAKE TODAY!
THE CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, WHAT ROCKIN' MIDI COMPOSITIONS THEY MAKE.

No, I work all day, and work aggravates me so much, I often have to stay up until 5AM so I am chilled out enough to sleep for more than four hours. Which is why I haven't gutted all of my game systems and accessories to photograph them all in one shot.

This is all I think of when someone mentions Quake.
