Hourai Gakuen no Bouken! I doubt it can't get more obscure without entering shit territory

It did the "it truly feels like I'm in my japanese anime" before persona and, on top of that, it is good

Hourai Gakuen no Bouken! is one of my favorite SNES RPGs, but I never see it brought up on /vr/ unless I'm the one talking about it. Yeah, the random encounter rate is pretty high, and the game turns into "Press A to win," not that far into it, but that doesn't detract from the game's charms at all.

It's a different kind of RPG. It takes place in modern times. You gain your skills by joining clubs in the school. It's got an irreverent off beat humor to it. The game's been translated, too. There's a patch out there for it, so you don't have to worry about knowing moon. Here's a link for a more in depth description on the game:
