My bf is a non-retro Xbox playing normie--ranked in a Halo tourney and everything. He's quite a bit younger than me. He'll play /vr/ games if I play his flavor of the month meme game, but otherwise doesn't touch the stuff. It's a decent compromise. I make him watch Liquid TV. He makes me watch Steven Universe. For weeks I regaled him with the exploits of my Daggerfall character. The only issue is that he's kind of impatient. There's no way in hell I could get him to sit through a coop of Secret of Mana, or anything like that.
