It is you who is the retard Anon. It's not meant to look like a CRT. You can't make an LCD resemble a CRT, but nonetheless, these games were not designed for LCD displays, so you have to do something. You just have to find a good middle ground.

The scanlines aren't visible from sofa distance, it just breaks up 2D sprites and edge aliasing so they don't look like blocky, jaggy dogshit. I'm not playing sat right up against the screen, because unlike the rest of you neckbeards, I don't live in my childhood bedroom at my parents house.

It's fine though, I will keep on enjoying my setup while you seethe about it.
