While messing around with the NES yesterday, I actually did notice a bit of a high whine that I don't believe had happened previously. Have you tried different consoles?

Think you could be a bit more specific about how it flickers? As in, is it the whole image? Jittery pixels? Does the monitor actually start to go back to its "Stand By" blue screen or what have you?
