So, what are some good tex based or semi-text based adventure games? By semi text based I mean games that have graphical interface but you do all the action by text. Frederik Pohl's Gateway, Eric the Unready etc.
I didn't like these games when I was a kid because I had a very short attention span, but as I grew older I started to appreciate literature and then these text adventures as well.

I'm planning to make my own game like this one day when I'm motivated enough. I wonder if anyone would buy a game like that these days?

Anything by Legend Entertainment.
Especially these:
Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get All The Girls (1990)
Spellcasting 201: The Sorcerer's Appliance (1991)
Timequest (1991)
Gateway (1992)
Spellcasting 301: Spring Break (1992)
Eric the Unready (1993)
Gateway 2 - Homeworld (1993)

They're not fully in text, they have this small screen that shows your current location with minimal animation. All commands are done by typing.

I played through Eric the Unready last year and it was one hell of a game. It was challenging and really funny too. Lots of oldschool sci-fi and fantasy references.

Frederik Pohl's Gateway, though it's pretty much just regular space sci-fi it still has this nice cyberpunk vibe going on.
I also recommend reading the books the game is based on.
