Looks like an AR-15 variant, M4A1 probably.

Not too unlike pic related, except shorter, has a RIS handguard, and fires full-auto/burst.

Really? You could use it for so many cool things, like portable medkits, hand grenades and weapon attachments, such as a silencer, or perhaps a bayonet.

Something I think could be neat would be a fire-selector for the rifle, so that it regularly shoots in semi-auto, and when you flick the fire-selector, it will fire in full-auto or burst.
