I've always found liberty city to be very comfy for being this take on the classic sin city vibe new york has had at times (and of which liberty is loosely based on) in so much that it has a tinge of noir to produce that attractive image of corruption, grime and crime without the realities of if one was to actually live in such an environment. I would harken the feeling it evokes in my to watching gangster films like lock stock and two smoking barrels.
