Ignorant parents are willy-nilly buying chinkhelds and famiclones for their kids only to give them away to local thrift stores instead of literally throwing them into the garbage, and I am reaping all the benefits. It is insane the items I regularly see on Aliexpress and Temu being discounted even further at my local Value Village. Their core customers are middle class mothers and elderly people who just mindlessly consume and buy and then trash and donate it all weeks later to remove clutter for more products. Literal NPCs just existing. I feel kind of bad when I find older, decent stuff just given away there because it usually means a parent is clearing out their millennial's bedroom to make space and just tossing all their shit behind their back, usually when they're off serving or doing remote work to start a life, but still. Reaping all the benefits.

btw still haven't bought a new analog nub for this since the one it came with is fucked. Looking into the cheapest option for a replacement nub, new battery, and maybe neat coloured buttons especially since the volume/start/select button strip is bent. Likely gonna keep it tho once it's fixed up proper, but not gonna mod it since lul modding a PSP what, just lets you play SNES roms poorly? I already physically own UMDs of every PSP game I could ever want to play.

Found a PSP at Value Village for $24.99 Canadian, minus 20% coupon.
It has no battery (old one was likely bloated anyway, I can buy a new cheap one online if I feel like it, still works when plugged in) and a massive crack on the front screen/shell.
Came with a 32 gig Memory Pro Duo and a copy of NBA 06.

I forgot how fucking fragile and flimsy PSPs fucking feel, and this is a 1000 model which had a better build than the 2000 and 3000 ones. the plastic feels like the same grade you find in American gumball capsule toys, like the launch PS3s with the Spider-man font.

I'd rather play games on my R36S any day. Even PSP titles.
