shoot em ups take time. if you don't play any games that require precision with your left hand you have to physically work up that dexterity if you're right handed. Learning to instantly recognize bullet patterns and see gaps is comparable to sight reading music, you're just going to have to keep doing it until you can move your hands in time with your eyes and read ahead.
