This game is weird as hell, unforgiving, overly ambitious, jumbled, not that fun, and yet still intriguing to me. It feels like a combination of developer ambition and mid-80s bubble-era budgets. It did well enough to get a Famicom version and two PCE versions, a ripoff by Konami, and ports to PS1 and a bunch of Japanese mobile phones.

The GCCX episode with this really illustrates what a bear it is to play, but the mystical/dark fantasy/religious Heian setting is still really cool to me, and the soundtrack is great.

But then again, maybe the possiblity would exist if they had released in the rest of the world.
