SEGA was not a bunch of pussies, they were broke. Totally fucking broke. The Saturn, Sega CD, 32X and GameGear had already failed before the Dreamcast, and when the PS2 came to steal it's thunder, SEGA just couldn't afford to keep the thing alive.

The original Wii and DS were two of the best-selling systems ever released, which gave Nintendo a fucking goldmine to sit on. Also, the WiiU may not be doing to well, but the 3DS is selling like hotcakes. Nintendo may not be doing as well as they would hope, but they can afford to keep the WiiU alive.

Also, if you don't have a WiiU, go fucking buy one right now. They're awesome, and about to be even more awesome with Splatoon just around the corner.
