This reminds me: what happens if you activate cutscenes meant for the other character? Here, Fox handles SpellStones while Krystal handles Krazoa Spirits, but in DP, you're also swapping to entirely different locations. Is there just an alternate version of the cutscene with the other character most of the time? Suppose that'd encourage replay value. Maybe establish that Fox has a mental link to talk back when Krystal is active?

Sounds pretty fun, I imagine there can be a new Tricky/Kyte-esque command.

Overall? Ironing out some of the kinks, this just goes to show that all you really needed was time and execution to blend the game with an existing IP. Too bad Rare was in panic mode during GameCube development, the revised premise could have really been great and explored the Star Fox universe in new and interesting ways while at the same time paying respect to the N64 version. It's a shame the final is an awkward mess.
