Bowzon main here. Brutal answer? You either level another character to farm gear, or you take a very long time to do it.

Fire zons are okay and need some gear to get going properly later on, and also run into the biggest wall in Hell with immunities. Cold zons stomp through normal and turn nightmare into a joke, then they slow to a crawl through hell. My personal favourite are physical, but they have a massive hurdle going from late normal through nightmare, then an even bigger hurdle starting Hell, let alone farming it.

Bowzons are shit because their damage is bad in more ways than one. They have low skill damage, not a lot of synergy bonuses and bows themselves are genuinely terrible stats wise, on top of being difficult to farm for.

If you want to an slow, but sure-fire buildpath then this is what you'll aim for in order:

nevermind, I just ended up deleting the entire potion in misc.txt and itemtypes.txt. That should work.
