If you're still here:
1. I'm starting up OpenTTD for the very first time. Which quality-of-life mods should I get just to make things nicer?
All I'm planning right now is some Japanese graphics pack, because I've long accepted my weeb-ness.
2. Is there any point to non-train stuffs? It feels like most guides, blog posts or YouTube videos, just focus on train tracks and not much on either trucks or airplanes.
