Aside from what you said, the player characters can generally take more damage before they go down in Biohazard, too. The JP versions of RE1-3 reduce the damage taken from enemies by somewhere around 20 to 30%. I haven't played any JP RE games past those three, though, so I'm not sure what changes the others might have.

Biohazard 2 also has the S rank, which is just equal to the US version's A rank.

I took longer than three hours in the JP version, and got an S rank (the JP equivalent of the US version's A rank). Not really sure how the ranking system works.
