I like NTSC composite filters. Doesn't remove detail from the pixel art or add anything that isn't there.

Unless there's some unique functionality you want from a standalone, I'd go with RetroArch. Be sure to git commit your savestates or whatever because mouse1 is bound by default to save slot 1 and you may forget that and not bother to change it because you're playing with a gamepad.

Some do. What looks bad is trying to create too much information that isn't there. Left still has bilinear filteirng which I forgot to turn off.

You'd know this to be false had you ever played a pure roguelike.

I never got past the second table as a kid. Recently played with a rewind-enabled emulator and have a git commited savestate on the third one where I don't know where to go. Maybe I'll give it another hour before consulting a map.

I had RGB on my Xbox, but I'd never use with Genesis. Pixels don't always look best as hard edged squares.
