It's just called IDE mod if you decide to connect the IDE cable wire by wire. But If you have the right model you can use a pcb to ease the installation. In my case I used the GD IDE. I would not recommend this mod right now as the result isn't satisfying. Some games are great like crazy taxi (instant texture streaming) but some have stutter, slowdowns, freeze, no sound. Very interesting project none the less. Lurk on dc swat for more info and have a look at the new loader for lba48 harddrives.
