Damn, yeah, don't do that.
The game is designed to be played using the shoulder buttons, you dash left and right, and if you press both at the same time, you can dash back and forth. The game is pretty much impossible without using that, and I bet doing that on a keyboard must be really clunky.

One of the best games on the system. Short, but sweet with a wicked good soundtrack. And yeah the current prices certainly have to do with the live-action movie.

I also thought about mentioning Forsaken (and Descent, I guess), but still that's a far cry from GITS, the only similarity is the uniqueness of them, but they're really not similar in gameplay, you aren't floating in the air with the Fuchikoma.
