I've never played a Metroid game before

I'm thinking of starting with Zero Mission, because I love playing on my backlit GBA. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it though. Have any of you tried the Chinese repros from Ebay etc? Are there any issues, besides obviously not being the originals?

Also a Metroid thread while we're here

How do I use Cheats on Gameboy advance on LINUX? What Emultor supports cheats?
I can't beat Mother Brain in Metroid Zero Mission. Mednafen seems to support cheats but I can't ust that interface.

I only had a few and they were good but really most of the good NES games were remade for the GBA so why bother?

2001-2003
The Gameboy advance, released in 2001, quickly became a safe haven for quality games of all genres. The little 32-bit handheld was home to two Metroid games, Metroid Fusion and, a while later, Metroid Zero Mission, both hailed as true revivals of the series (Fusion less so).

F-Zero also had its spot in the sun with both F-Zero Maximum Velocity, a re-imagining the of the original SNES title and an Anime tie-in game, F-Zero GP Legend. Both titles were recognized as quality games in their own right, some even say surpassing the quality of the originals.
