Decent anti-air, in the story it does not require strength. If I remember, the old man took away his strength and that was the technique taught by the old lady which pretty much taught him almost all his advanced techniques.

>>9572471
Agreed, I do prefer Hard Battle's sprites, but that one does have better fighting mechanics.

Yeah, the 3rd fighting game is probably the best one for me, but I do prefer the visuals and stylings of the second one.

I like Tendou Nabiki and Kuonji Ukyou. However only Ukyou has some semblance of fighting technique. She's not as good as other characters like Ranma and Ryouga in the game though with her tactical weaknesses.

I think it is between her an Kuonji Ukyou, I cannot decide.

>>6501926
I actually prefer the later Nakajima Atsuko redesigns for the later episodes and OVAs. Takahashi Rumiko does put a lot of heart into the stories though for the characters, but for looks, definitely that period of Nakajima Atsuko art.

I was glad the seiyuu was still alive to do one last reprisal of Kuonji Ukyou before she died in the Rumic World OVAs which was pretty nostalgic of the joy I had in my youth watching the series. I've not followed Nabiki after her fun music she did for Gundam W traveling around the world to follow a mysterious light message.

I was just wondering how Capcom could figure characters that appear in only one panel of a comic is better designed than anything their own artists could do.

>>5809885
Sounds nice. I only watched the early few episodes and the movie and played the strip mahjong game so I think the Mega Drive game may be the way to go for me.

I remember 5 SFC releases, 2 PCE games, 3 GB games, a singular MegaCD title, and a Playstation game. That is just what I remember, there may be even more. That's pretty good already.

>>5578796
I think that is Street Combat

... but that's a guy. Fortunately the games have the abundance of anime girls OP is looking for. Are the PC-Engine ones any good?

>>4890916
I have not explored the PCE version yet. From what I gathered about the Mega Drive one, it follows the early portion of the series in a point & click adventure styled game with the delivery method of an overhead RPG-styled game.

As for Alisia Dragoon, I liked it but my taste in games are a bit alternative to the norm. It is a game more about juggling the amount of power used and familiar leveling/choice. It's alright, not as tightly designed or playing as other games, but back when I got it, I was just happy to have another game and I am glad it was part of my past.

I've only played the ones I got. They aren't anything special, but they are bolstered by the franchise. As I enjoyed the animated series, specifically the first 18 episodes, the OVAs, filler movies, and the last 30-so of the 144 episodes of Nettouhen where the animation and art is almost at the point where the OVAs pick up from (the series took a massive dip in animation and art quality for Nettouhen at its start). Some filler episodes are alright, but for the most part garbage.

See, Ranma isn't the author's best work by any means. She has done better with other series for romance, comedy, drama, etc. However, this series is nostalgically linked with my enjoyment doing a lot okay. Which is sort of the kinds of games I played a lot of. I never can afford to play the best stuff, and I settled for a lot of games from the clearance and bargain bins. They aren't necessarily good, but fun for me. So the Ranma games I got here are in that area of "okay, it'll do" which speaks to me.

>>4701986
Wrong. Tendou Nabiki and Kuonji Ukyou best. You can't convince me otherwise.

I only recently got an AV Famicom, and I don't know of any Ranma games on that system. I know there are Gamboy, PC-Engine, and Playstation ones I have not played yet. Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle has my favorite pixel art for the SFC games and feels more solid, but it is limited as a fighter. It is pretty shallow of a game, and I would not say it is a decent/playable/fun fighting game on its own. For me, it is just propped up by its license. As >>4650317 mentioned, Tyougi Ranbuhen is slightly closer to a fighting game, but I feel its visuals are a step down from Bakuretu Rantouhen.

>>4650891
No, Kuonji Ukyou is just mistaken for a guy by attitude and she's tied with Tendou Nabiki for best girl.

I have, because I really enjoyed the series back then. It isn't hard to capture the "essence" with a fighting game when the series is basically everything is a combat/martial art (like gymnastics, cooking, etc.). I think the 3rd game is closer to a decent fighting game on the SNES than the others, but I prefer the spritework and backgrounds of the 2nd one on the SNES better. The SNES has many better fighting games, but my enjoyment for the series means I'd still enjoy the game more than most.

>>4601341
Her moves are mostly up-close, but she does have a dive kick. Other characters may achieve better offense. If you meant by just character, Tendou Nabiki and Kuonji Ukyou best girls.

I love me Nabiki and Ukyou, but the former is not a fighter and the latter has no real advantages in the game. So Ryouga probably for a decent anti-air, dive attack, and semi-projectile.

>>4468206
Tsubasa is the feminine-looking guy, and his theme is disguises. Fittingly Tsubasa ends out with Ukyou last I read of the comics. The cheerleader was just a girl from another school that was into Kuno, her projectiles in the game are pretty good..

#1 (tie) - Tendou Nabiki
#1 (tie) - Kuonji Ukyou
#3 - Tendou Akane (because Motoko is fun in 3S)

rate my taste

Since over 80% of my games are of Japanese origin, I would say almost all of my games are anime games.

I kind of prefer the pixel art of Bakuretu Rantouhen but I do think Tyougi Ranbuhen plays closer to a fighting game.

>>4293589
I still have the American fliers for a localized Tyougi Ranbuhen that never arrived. It was planned to be localized and renamed "Anything Goes Martial Arts" as its subtitle. The text on the screenshots were in English, so there may have been a prototype at one time. I even remembered speaking with a few people involved at a trade show, and they were excited to release it in the USA, but I think the industry was starting to turn its eyes onto the Playstation at that time.

Every Saturn owner I met in those days were forced to import. The system was like a sucessor to the PC-Engine. In the end Playstation got everything in some way, and localiztions became more common. Pretty exciting for games, also great value. I just don't think anyone on /vr/ would want to talk visual novels and strip mahjong games.

>>4040548
I think there was a phrase in that Dodgeball movie on how they are indestructible. It's all fun, plus girls + volleyball is a winning formula.
