Totally wrong entry point into the genre. In fact old shmups are far more challenging than bullet hells and more rewarding, don't fall for the Cave memes and their convoluted scoring systems. Have you 2-alled the entire strikers trilogy (I have)? Have you seen the second loop of Tatsujin? Doubtful. Now those are exhilarating (I haven't seen a vagina in decades btw).
Let me remind you that I don't play for score, I strictly play for fun (big difference). If you have any questions just ask.
