I should try more mapsets intended for it, I didn't run into this with Dwell or when I went through UDOB awhile back. They seemed to compensate for it with appropriate placements.
My general impression is that no one cares much about ammo placement in general. Nearly every set I played last month had regenerating ammo pickups.
