Darkstalkers is criminally underrated, particularly considering how innovative it was for the time.

Provided they stay true to its roots rather than following the direction they've been trying to take it in crossovers and such.

Classic Bengus was so awesome.

With all the damage they've done to the brand through the crossovers and such maybe it's better off dead.

Bengus's early to mid-90's stuff was great. But then it changed and became more flat and generic around the time of Vampire Savior and Street Fighter Alpha 3. I remember seeing a drawing he did of Cammy, Chun Li and R. Mika for an official Capcom calendar not too long ago and I was like "WTF, Bengus did this? It looks like some random fan art off of Pixiv!"

I think in the end it was just the huge amount of competition that was out there. This was right in the middle of the fighter boom, it had stuff like Mortal Kombat, KIller Instinct, King of Fighters, and even Capcom's own Marvel and later Street Fighter games to compete against. It managed to get a decent following in Japan during its heyday, but it fell off pretty quickly.

Yeah, I know there's been mumbling about Darkstalkers 4 but I'll believe it when I see it.
