Batman has an uncommonly good treatment across multiple media, in my opinion. Aside from genuinely great games, Batman comics had a succession of really good artists/writers in the 80s and 90s, an amazing movie (I consider 1989 Batman a cinematic masterpiece and the best superhero film), and a great animated series as well.
I suppose the appeal is because the plots of Batman transcend just "cape fiction, it's more like detective series and sometimes gothic horror. I like other capeshit such as Spidey or X-Men but it's undeniable that they have a whole lot more garbage published.

What's the best way to emulate GB/GBC games? Playing them on a huge screen is kinda weird.

How come Doom's aesthetic gets so ruined when you play it on resolutions higher than, say, 640x400? There's a gloomy, unsettling look to the original game which gets lost with opengl renderers and all the fancy stuff, even the shadows appear different. Do any engines try to compensate for this? I always play the episodes on Chocolate because the game just feels different, more horror-like, the invisible demons are actually hard to see, everything looks darker etc.
It's a waste that not many people experience it like that and probably jump on G/ZDOOM engines.

>tfw you haven't replaced your system for so long you've completely forgotten everything about hardware
I'll probably turn into one of those plebs who buys a random decent laptop, enough for emulation.
