Hi everyone! I'm pleased to tell everyone that I finally jumped into the Genesis pool with a s-video modded Genesis 1 (V6) with front loading Sega CD! Unfortunately I've got a minor issue but I don't know for sure if it's the mod/console's fault or my TV's.

The picture quailty as far as clarity goes can't be beat (and is the main reason for getting an S-video mod, right?). But for some reason, I have this weird checkerboard pattern appear on certain colors and it just doesn't look nearly as good as my SNES (which naturally is S-video ready). I've noticed that to a lesser extent on my SNES and NES, but only on reds (like in Mario's cap in the coin rooms in SMB1 in SMAS). My instinct tells me that it's not the console or mod's fault, it's probably my TV (or possibly the cables). It's a 32" Sharp Aquos HDTV. It's supposedly designed with gaming in mind but that's probably with the modern consoles in mind, not classic ones.

The guy who did my mod told me he tested it on a projector, and didn't have any LCD TV's. Again, I don't believe it's the fault of the mod but I just wanted to be sure. After all, I do always like to have my games look their best. :)
