Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin because Spider-Man and Mary Jane fucking DIE. Also, bad ending aside, the OST and overall mood feel darker than what you'd expect from Spider-Man, especially the Genesis original since it doesn't have that "SAVE THIS CITY" song like the SEGA CD version does, it's just a dark mood from start to finish.

The ambition of the concept clearly exceeded the ability of the developers to pull it off. I loved the adventure and time/resource management aspects of it, but the central gameplay and general level layouts are a fucking mess. Still worth a play though, specially for the hilarious Sega CD version cutscenes.

I loved that moody and atmospheric song that often played during the cutscenes on this one, but never found it sadly, it was my favorite on this whole fantastic OST.

It's a real mess really... I personally prefer Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin for both versions.

Arcade's Revenge is a real shame, since it sort of plays well, but level design can be a pain, design choices in various places... and sending you back to the title screen, that's what truly kills it, at least for me.

The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin (1993)
I'd say that this was the 1st time Spider-Man was properly represented in video games, besides the Genesis original version, of course... you have the mobility you'd expect from the character, a wide range of attacks, webslinging that feels satisfying and full of momentum, wall crawiling that's way smoother than in the original... it just feels like a Spider-Man video game, instead of a video game that just so happens to have Spider-Man in it, like most of his 2D titles were. It's probably the 1st time you get an open world feeling from a Spider-Man video game, with good level design and tons of exploration around NY. Also, the OST is fantastic, it looks superb and appealing even today, and the cutscenes are fun to watch even if they're sort of ridiculous nowadays. I can't recommend this one enough.

P.S. I can't believe they put a bad ending where Spider-Man and MJ are dropped into a pool of acid in a video game mostly tarketed at kids and teenagers.
