I've had the same issue with games - Fond memories of hours of gameplay, only to be disappointed with them today.

I think the real issue is that when I was a kid, I had like 5 or 6 games and that's all. Nowadays, you have a huge library to chose from, so you have the option of "I'd rather play a different game"
