Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of my CRT today and I’m too afraid of doing so now, I’ve even taken a shower and locked the room with my TV in it so here have a picture I took at the tail end of October. It was like this until today, with the upper left edge getting more distorted as I kept playing. I only use my CRT for about an hour every few days, and it’s a Southern Hemisphere model of the Sony KV-25FS120 (south American version of the KV-24FS120).

Yes, the games are all good. The timing IS wack on the first game, but it's fixed on Lammy and by PaRappa 2 it's basically no longer. People say the first game is hard, but once you get the hang of the weird timing it's manageable, if anything reviewers back in the 90s said it could be too easy sometimes. I suppose the main reason why the first game is seen as hard is because of how used we are to modern rhythm game timing (stage 4 aside).

>PS1 Rhythm games only work properly on Mednafen.
Works on Duckstation in my machine.

Also have a pic of me playing PaRappa 2 on my CRT. Feels good.

>why? don't see how it would be an issue besides not being able to get into the service menu in the first place
I see. It's a shame for me to be still using the universal remote for so long even if it works perfectly given how I can find legit ones for 5 dollars easily.
>just write down everything before you change it
This was exactly what I was planning to do. Is there anything else people recommend to use when checking geometry? I'd use 240p Test Suite, but the only console with it that I have at hand is a PS1 that reads legit discs half the fucking time, if at all. And my PS2 is just piss garbage at reading PS1 discs as well, especially since everything else runs just fine in it.
>if you fuck up just disconnect the tv and try again, DON'T factory reset the values
I've been keeping the TV plugged in since my relatives say that the CRT is more likely to malfunction if I plug it on and off repeatedly (nevermind that when I first heard about it, it sounded like a myth, as I always unplug my consoles whenever I finish using them). Factory resetting is a no no for me, now that I think about it. Can't trust 17 year old tech.

>Curious if anybody else here has opinions on this guy, but his videos have been incredibly helpful for me.
I watched one of his videos today, and it was pretty helpful as well.

Also have another picture that shows the blue convergence better. The TV also has a blue tint when it starts up, but it disappears with time and calibrates decently about 3 minutes after pressing the power button.
