it's not nearly as good as psx Crash, but it's an alright game to play when you've tired of replaying those. the floaty physics and movement also bothered me at first. the controls themselves still felt precise enough that I eventually got use to it. the level design is a mixed bag, but the environments always looked good to me. the two unique things that kept me coming back to the game were the music and cool transparency effects.

I still liked the first 3 though. Shit, I even liked Wrath of Cortex more. Just thinking about the two right now, I'd rather replay TWoC all the way gain, all 106% of it. Which is odd, because Twinsanity seems to offer the type of gameplay I generally like more.

>is Wrath of Cortex worth a playthrough?
Yes
>I'd say overall I like Traveller's Tales games
WOC definitely has that Traveller's Tales vibe. Even the music sounds like Toy Story 2 in places.

>Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
>Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
These are routinely called 'bad' by their respective fanbases. In reality they are both just very average, middling games, but for me they each one had more things that I liked vs things that I didn't.

I counted that out of 35 levels (including bosses) in Wrath of Cortex, I disliked 10 of them (all of the vehicle/underwater crap basically). But even those became noticeably more tolerable after replaying them a few times and learning them better.

pretty much exactly how I feel about it. I think the hate was mostly a product of the disappointment at launch. It was the first next gen Crash game, and I remember getting pretty hyped up over the screenshots. Also it was the first return to platforming in 3 years after Bash and CTR, and that anticipation further added to the disappointment of it not living up to the ps1 games. Bash was a big letdown and this was further confirmation that the series was not going to recover post-Naughty Dog.
