I don't know, but if that anon is looking for a civil and constructive discussion then 4chins is definitely not the place for him.

Does Quake 1's soundtrack work well with Quake 2 though?

yeah, no.

jazz1&2 are rather memorable to me, it just lacked in the enemy-department.

In the late 90s my family decided to buy a PC. I loved videogames back then, so I usually bought discs at stores full of what people would call abandonware at the time. I didn't mind it being a decade old, for me it was software I really liked. However there was a shitton of games there, so I don't remember anything that's not popular enough today. Almost every single game I played back then was a DOS game, and I could just find that software anywhere now in full sets if I want.

The issue I have is DOSBox. I'm trying to find an up to date frontend for DOSBox that will make it easy for me to have a library of games there without having to manually set up each of them. Is there such a thing? I remember having trouble a few years ago.

Anyone else remember this series?

I recently put together a machine for playing DOS games (got a Gravis Ultrasound and Sound Blaster 16 coexisting, woohoo!) and one of the first things I put on there was Commander Keen 1-6.

Haven't played these since I was little. And now I remember what attracted me to them: they're... *relaxed* sidescrollers. Not always giving you heart attacks like the Super Mario games. I mean, yeah, there's precision jumping and all that but the whole tone of the game is laid-back. It's the sidescroller equivalent of sitting in a lawn chair with a beer, not something you have to sweat over in a three-hour session or whatever.

Anyway, I love it.
