You know what's really weird about the Wizardry OVA? Okay so Wizardry the game was created by Robert Woodhead, the series was popular in Japan so it got an OVA. That's not to weird by itself but get this, Robert Woodhead was also the founder of Animeigo, one of the oldest anime (and Japanese media) licensers in the west. So the Wizardry OVA, despite being based on a western game and that the creator has a studio made to license anime was NEVER officially brought over to the west. Now I'm sure there's probably some explanation involving mountains of legal stuff but still. Weird.

The MC casually gets his arm lopped off and the party finds a pile of dead eviscerated adventurers. It's not irreverent enough to be like Slayers.
