I'm not too familiar with the newer 3DS ones, but the DS versions are not so great. I actually prefer the River City Dodge Ball All-Stars "fangame" made by Miracle Kidz over the official Super Dodge Ball Brawlers.

To be fair, River City Ransom was already a heavily Americanized version of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari. The only difference now is that they're making their own game instead of graphically modifying an existing Kunio-kun game or worse, insist on calling everything Kunio related "River City" because

You could say that, but Renegade isn't the one that achieve a huge cult following among NES kiddies.
