/vr/ - Retro Games

If I wanted to get the best picture out of a crt for nes, snes etc, how would I go about doing so? Which CRT should I get, any upscalers or whatever like the framemeister?? any different adapters i should use or something? I'm totally clueless about it all, especially which cables are the best.

Hi. Total newfag here. I've kinda lurked around here for 4 months or so now and am trying to get into retro gaming. I've had a Dreamcast and a PS2 for years and played them on my LED monitor, but I recently picked up a PSone and am looking to step up my game, so to speak. Are CRTs really best for playing 4th and 5th gen games? Can I just pick up a working one at Goodwill or on ebay with RGB inputs and expect a good experience, or do I need to do something different/more advanced? Helpful anons will be much appreciated.
