These. For the love of Alfador, stick to a Nintendo release. You can't go wrong with either, but non-Nintendo releases of Chrono Trigger are somehow doomed to be subpar ports. With SNES, you're getting slightly better stability and audio/visuals, and with DS, you're getting bonus features returning from the lazy PS1 conversion (anime cutscenes, bestiary, and music player) plus some more bonus content/dungeons (though everything except maybe the post-game Dimensional Vortex kinda sucks). Localization is a touchy subject; this is arguably Ted Woolsey's finest translation on the SNES, but for the DS version, Tom Slattery expressed disappointment in an interview that he was unfamiliar with the original game and that Square Enix didn't give him enough time to really familiarize himself with it - so this is subjective and you'll see most people prefer the former, though the latter doesn't have 90's-era NoA censorship. Just avoid any and all ROM hacks, they are all cancer and we've been over this extensively in the past.
