Japanese MVS cabinets shipped with Omron XW6Z-0011 buttons until at least 1995. These don't feel as accurate as the Seimitsu PS-14-G people put in them now. They are more springy and loose compared to the snappy and tactile PS-14-G.

I respect it.
I have done similar things buying strictly inferior game controllers just to be able to experience the games the way they were played back in the day.
I bought some Omron XW6Z-0011 buttons a few months back to do this.

For those not familiar: these are the original Neo Geo buttons used in the early MVS cabinets before SNK switched to using PS-14-G buttons. They look similar from the top, but are completely different in design from below. The Omron buttons have a longer stroke, and feel more loose in their socket. They also feel more springy.
Overall: a more primitive feeling product and probably strictly inferior for playing fighting games with.

But I don't regret the purchase at all. And I didn't pay very much for them either because it seems like Neo collectors hardly even care or know about them.

Also bought some vintage LS-32 joysticks and restored the oldest one of the bunch that had notably worse build quality than later versions to pair it with my buttons.
