>Now that would be an interesting concept for a game. Looks like it's for toddlers but is batshit hard.
Rayman is literally this.

As a kid I remember having and playing a Rayman game platformer exactly like pic related, also on ps1. I remember it as "Rayman 3" but upon looking in the internet, it seems like Rayman 3 is a PS2 game. The Rayman I'm talking about is one where you start with the copter upgrade and the levels are lot bit different, so is the world map. I can't find info about it anywhere. It is not Rayman Gold, either are the party games. Do you know what Rayman I'm talking about?

If you like hard plataformers give rayman a try, some of the levels are unforgiving, and you only get 5 continues, and the controls are very good

Germany and France were pretty productive during the 90's as well, with companies like Blue Byte (The Settlers), Cryo (Commander Blood, KGB) or Silmarils (Ishar series, Robinson's Requiem).

Also, Ubisoft.

Despite this, the original Rayman(which is full 2D) was the best selling Playstation game in the UK, and did pretty well elsewhere. This might be because Rayman was a very early Playstation title though.

Only a select few PAL games prior to the 6th generation got added resolution. Rayman is a rare example, and plays pretty much the same as the NTSC version along with added lines.
