Sonic 2 was probably the best in the entire series for how faster paced it was, Sonic 3/S&K offered way more variety out of all of all of them and CD definitely shown everyone what the Sega CD was truly capable of (even though most of the games on that were FMV garbo). While I've yet to see this game to be released on Steam to properly evaluate weather this game is any good or not without wanting to look at it with the rosy coloured specs of nostalgia, I feel that Sonic 1 isn't exactly the perfect game. I mean there were levels on the Genesis/Mega Drive version that were cut from the Master System version for some reason.

Really, I'm not even sure WHY exactly you think that Sonic 1 is the best sonic game ever made when this clearly is.
