So let me get this straight: SEGA made every Dreamcast unit able to run unsigned code from run-of-the-mill CDs just because they wanted to release some karaoke games in Japan and those games couldn't also use GD-ROMsv like the rest for some reason? And once that was discovered the only thing standing between hackers and full system access was some extremely basic memory scrambling techniques? Wow, Sony sure gets a lot of flak for failing to secure their consoles properly, but this is next level recklessness.

Why is Dreamcast emulation so bad? The architecture couldn't possibly be worse than N64's, so why does even DEmul fail to run well on a modern PC, playing a rather simple game like Rez?
It makes me really sad, because I lost my Dreamcast moving to another state. I'll probably have to buy another one and rebuild my collection at this rate.
Between DEmul, Reicast and nullDC, Reicast runs the best (but has a terrifying amount of glitches,) nullDC is the most "playable" and DEmul is the most accurate, from what I've tested. And none of them are really stable enough to play through anything with.
What can be done about this? I'd consider contributing to Reicast but the codebase is really ugly C++ and I think just buying a system would be more worth the effort. Maybe that's why DC emulation is so bad.

This version is better. Sadly mine chokes on its food a bit too often, it needs the SD attachment. Mars Matrix is good food.
