Nintendo excels at being for babies and man children who run away when they see blood because they are immature babyfags and can't handle a deep, dark, serious game like I can. Sega and Sony had games that reflected the inner darkness of my soul from having two Christmases since my parents were divorced, while Nintendo did kiddy shit because nintentoddlers are fucking babies who never had to rough it in high school like real people, like me, who had to deal with bullies and preppy douchebags since they didn't understand my real power...

Reminder that if you didn't grow up with both SNES and Genesis you only had half a childhood.

Very sad.

He probably meant:

Incorrect perspective calculation, warping textures and more shovelware than you can count: PlayStation.

Both consoles were good anyway, don't be faggots.
But the wobbly textures on PS1 were annoying then and they're annoying now, the N64 looks bad on modern screens, but the anti-aliasing makes games look a lot smoother on CRTs.

I had friends with N64 (it was also a popular weekend rental console), but I didn't knew anyone with a Saturn I was the only one, but I also owned a PS1 and a N64

I am american and I grew up with both consoles and computers (286, 386, 486, Pentium).

They were also common on computer labs at school, plenty of kids who didn't even have any video game at home played stuff like Stunts, Carmen San Diego or even Wolfenstein 3D thanks to school labs.

This thread is like a "best of" of /vr/ 5th gen console war, I've seen most posts and bait in this thread before many times.

It's not a fallacy if I actually grew up enjoying both, though.

>random anons who do console wars unironically

I can deal with that.

>willingly admitting that he was a single-system owner back in the day
>he actually missed one of these consoles when he was a kid and at most only played it at a friend's house, being a jealous nigger about it.

I don't care if you're on Sega or Nintendo's side, if you weren't a Segatendo idort during 4th gen, it's like you only had half a childhood, it sucks.

I know I'm being cruel because probably your parents couldn't afford both, but what the hell, I'm anonymous so I don't mind being a dick and telling the truth. Also if you get upset over this you're a sperg anyway.

What do you think is the reasoning behind console wars on /vr/?

On /v/ it (kind of) makes sense: most of /v/ users are teenagers or young adults and they could only afford 1 system so they have to stand for their choice, also since news about sales charts and what not are coming out constantly and a lot of news websites have them weekly, there's fresh material for console war all the time with current systems and games.

But what about /vr/? I'd like to think a big chunk of the userbase here is over 25 (I know, I know there's a lot of teenagers on here too, but I believe we have more older people here than on /v/ in general).
I see a lot of people here very passionate about console wars. I've noticed some months ago, 5th gen console war was more rampant, constant PS1 vs N64 threads all the time, now Genesis vs SNES is all the rage, we have constant threads about that and every time someone makes a thread for a Genesis or SNES game, fanboys of Sega/Nintendo don't hesitate to make bait posts about how Sega/Nintendo sucks. Not to mention all the threads that are already bait on the OP, which are a lot.
/v/ also has a couple recognizable trolls, like thedude and rugarell who plan their "raids" on other chans and stuff. /vr/ still doesn't have that kind of organized trolling, but there's a couple guys that already have recognizable shitposting patterns.

but I don't get it... what is there to war about? Both Genesis and SNES ended up being great consoles and thankfully we can enjoy their catalogues now, many decades later. I don't believe there is someone who truly doesn't want to play one one of these consoles because "I don't like the sound" or similar console warry arguments.

Feel free to leave your thoughts, whether you are a console warrior yourself or not.
