So why has Nintendo never re-released their actual physical hardware and cartridges? I refuse to believe there isn't a market for this. If they released brand new versions of the NES or SNES or just started remaking the launch day versions with a line of cartridges I refuse to believe people wouldn't pay a respectable price for them given what they get in good condition on the open market. It can't be too expensive to make given how many Chinese famiclones are out there and they'd put that market which cuts into their action out of business.

All of us who grew up with this would pay a respectable premium for it. I'd pay $100 for a boxed new NES with two brand new controllers and a zapper + Mario/Duck Hunt pack in and 30 dollars a pop for boxed brand new games. The 30th anniversary of the NES is in two years and I turn 30 a couple months before the NES does. Those of us who grew up with it aren't totally poorfags anymore and would shell out a little cash to get replacements.

Why do they opt for just going the emulation route?

Hey guys, I recently bought an NES, along with some Castlevania games, some Ninja Gaiden games, and several others, and I'm really not having fun. I love older games, but I'm just not having any fun with it. It's a pain in the ass to get working, what with the flashing purple screen thing, and I'm not getting too much enjoyment out of playing. Am I playing the wrong games? Should I return it and get an SNES?
